Overview

The ONEBAT project focuses on the development of a miniaturized Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (micro-SOFC) power source for portable electronic equipment, such as MDA (mobile digital assistant), laptops, and portable industrial and medical devices.

Processed using micro-fabrication techniques and operating directly on liquid gas, this new type of energy device has the advantage of high flexibility (geographical independence, immediate charging) and will exhibit a large increase in energy density compared to current Li-ion batteries.

The targeted product demonstrator depends on significant achievements in materials preparation in form of thin films and their properties, fuel cell integration, gas processing and heat management at the micro-system scale.
