Abstract |
|
The phase equilibria in the system Bi---Sr---Ca---O have been clarified in the Bi-poor region around the solid solutions Bi2Sr1-xCa1+xOy, Bi2Sr3-xCaxOy, Bi9Sr11-xCa5+xOy, BiSr3-xCaxOy, and (Ca, Sr)O on two isothermal sections at 900 and 820[deg]C in air. The lattice constants along the solid solution ranges were determined by X-ray diffraction. The phase Bi2Sr3-xCaxOy is stable over a wide range of Sr : Ca ratios above ~ 880[deg]C in air. The crystal structure of the ternary phase Bi9Sr 11-xCa5+xOy is monoclinic (Pc) with a=11.195(2) a, b=5.914(1) a, c=19.972(4) a, [beta]=101.78(1)[deg] for the composition Bi : Sr : Ca=36.0 : 28.7 : 35.3. Both solid solutions show a remarkable temperature dependence. |
