| Abstract | Melt-processed polycrystalline Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+[delta] specimens contain a variety of phases. A systematic identification is presented of the different non-superconducting phases besides the grains of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy (2212) superconductors by HREM, ED and EDX. The Ca and Cu concentrations of the superconducting grains are reduced owing to the existence of several other phases in melt-processed specimens. The transformation of (2201) grains to (2212) grains upon heat treatment and different stacking sequences in (2212) grains are identified. [Author abstract; 13 Refs; In English] | |
